The Kulturfabrik Lina Koch is a place for art and music, offers space for encounters and co-creation and thus revitalises one of the last factory buildings in the former Lautex quarter in Neugersdorf.

We need your support!
We need donations for our workshops, the documentation of the project and to support the Kulturfabrik Lina-Koch, where our project takes place. In this way, we strengthen local culture and promote creative exchange in the long term.
The collision
Kollision der Künste, or ‘Kodekü’ for short, is a special art residency for artists in which a wide variety of disciplines come together.
The concept of ‘Kodekü’ is based on as much interaction as possible between the resident artists and local residents, because our project thrives on participation and co-design!
→ We are not interested in short-term attention, but in initiating sustainable processes that mobilise creative forces. The first ‘Kodekü’ took place in Bischofswerda in 2020, was successfully continued in subsequent years and will now not only continue to move geographically, but also develop further in terms of site-specific themes and socio-cultural approaches.
Our project is travelling through small towns in eastern Saxony every two years.
We see added value for the rural regions through this itinerary, particularly in the fact that a cross-regional network structure can be created that strengthens and supports each other. At best, this makes rural areas accessible in terms of art and culture. In the past two years, we have focussed our attention on the Neufertbau in Weißwasser and now we would like to turn our attention to the Kulturfabrik Lina Koch in Ebersbach- Neugersdorf.
What did we
done in 2024?
The five artists who make up our group's organisational team visited Ebersbach-Neugersdorf as a new project location for a fortnight and laid the foundations for a successful ‘Collision of the Arts’. The ‘Collision of the Arts’ team spent two weeks in Ebersbach-Neugersdorf in May. We pursued our respective artistic fields of activity and developed our first participatory approaches.
This led to networking with local players in the cultural scene, first and foremost GründerZeiten e.V.: they are actively dedicated to preserving the former textile factory, which they named after the former factory owner ‘Lina Koch’. Based on the history of the building, which in some aspects is exemplary for the more recent history of the town, we were able to get an impression of the place.
At the end of our stay, we took part in the annual honey festival and put our ideas to the test. For example, there was a hands-on movement activity which, in combination with food colouring, was great fun, especially for the little artists from Neugersdorf. We also put up large pinboards on which local residents answered our region-related questions and we were able to better understand the issues that affect the town. We were able to observe the creation of a large mural that deals with the textile history of the region and now adorns the outside wall of the Kulturfabrik. We also set up a cinema room in which we presented the documentation of our project in Weißwasser, giving us an impression of what can be created in Ebersbach-Neugersdorf.
What do we
plan for 2025?
In addition to our 5 association members, we would like to create 5 art residencies in Neugersdorf. The invited artists will be present in the town for a fortnight in the summer of 2025 to realise their site-specific projects and come into contact and interact with as many people as possible.
At the beginning of this period, there will be a welcome party for the artists and local residents so that interaction is possible from day one. Halfway through, there will be an ‘open day of creation’ so that interested parties have the opportunity to see the works in process. The finale of the two-week residency will be the opening of our exhibition at the Lina Koch, which will be accompanied by a supporting programme with live music, workshops and guided tours. The exhibition will then be presented for a further week with guided tours. In addition, works will be developed that are intended to remain on site. By means of the project, we want to stimulate a revitalisation, encourage participation and promote tolerance and diversity through the diversity of our art collision.

KODEKÜ, the Collision of the Arts, has been a household name for four years now and has made its first and important mark in the region. The initiative, which was launched in 2020 and is intended as an art residency for artists, has focussed its activities on the East Saxon region. Every two years
the organisational team focuses on small towns in the hinterland of Dresden in order to identify, consolidate and create basic structures with local initiatives and activists in the first year, before inviting national and international artists to an art residency for the second year, in which a wide range of disciplines come together in an interdisciplinary way.
disciplines come together. So far, this has happened in Bischofswerda in 2020 and 2021 and in Weißwasser in the following two years. The KODEKÜ concept is based on maximising interaction between resident creatives and local residents. The initiators are not interested in short-term attention, but in initiating sustainable processes that mobilise creative forces.

‘Summer 2021: European artists are coming to the small Saxon town of Bischofswerda to spend two weeks working on art projects that they will present on site.
However, the artists are not simply supposed to present their works and projects, but to come into contact with Lusatia. A film rich in perspective about the attempt to promote openness and interest in art in Eastern Saxony.’ - Global perspectives
